the ULTIMATE RAD tools for Java Technology

Mobile Online Seminar

Mobile On-Line Seminar.

Learn how your company can become more competitive by creating custom end-to-end mobile wireless applications.

Data Representations, creator of the Simplicity Family of Java application development tools, invites your staff to a private viewing of a live, on-line presentation that will provide valuable interactive information for companies that are interested in the latest concepts and technology for creating mobile/enterprise applications.

Throughout the winter months we are offering free seminars to executives and/or their IT staff showing how to create end-to-end mobile applications that can tie enterprise application servers to handheld devices powered by Palm OS®, Blackberry™, and other smart phones. Our presentation will include creating applications and discussions on hardware, software and carrier capabilities.

The presentation progresses into live and interactive application development. The first application we will create shows how to program a client application on a mobile device. Our application will show all the displayables available in J2ME MIDP and how they are used. Next, a transaction will be created showing how to open an http connection between the device and a server, select requested data to send to the server, and then receive the server responses.

Next we will create a server side application, (Servlet) that aggregates data directly from an industry standard JDBC database, and a legacy application such as an AS/400. The development includes the SQL coding, mapping of fields and exporting the data in an XML format via an http connection.

The development returns to the client MIDP application that receives, parses and maps the XML response.

The demonstration concludes with the packaging of the MIDlet and Servlet.

These presentations are truly a valuable experience for executives and technical staffs. Our developer will use Simplicity RAD tools which are known, world-wide, for their visual style of Java programming. The presentation is free and well worth the price of adimission. We will share our desktop with your company via a private Web Ex session at an agreeable time.
