Data Representations releases new tool: Simplicity for Mobile Devices.
New tool provides Rapid Application Development for MIDP developers.SPRINGFIELD, NEW JERSEY, December 5, 2001-
Data Representations, creators of Simplicity for Java and Simplicity Professional,
is proud to announce the release of the newest member of the Simplicity
family of products, Simplicity for Mobile Devices. Shown at JavaOne, this
new tool provides users with levels of functionality never before seen in
any other development environment for the MID profile.
"When installed in a PC, Simplicity for Mobile Devices can be used to quickly create applications that directly interact with the functions of wireless devices, such as cell phones and other WAP enabled devices. These customized applications allow users of these devices to tailor them to their specific needs. Java was created specifically to run on any platform and it has always been part of our mission to take advantage of that power. Now, Simplicity supports yet another platform," said Carl Sayres, president and co-founder of Data Representations.
The Simplicity family of products are Rapid Application Development tools for Java, built to make fast work of creating professional Java applets and applications. The programs include the capability to build Servlets, allow database integration, and test applications across a variety of operating systems.
About Simplicity
Version 1.2.2 of Simplicity Professional offers new capabilities that allow
developers to build SQL queries graphically, and tie the resulting data
into their applications without programming. The tools may be used with
any JDBC- or ODBC- compliant database server. The addition of new database
tools to Simplicity Professional's proven Rapid Application Development
suite provides a complete development tool kit for building data-intensive
applications without programming.
Version 1.2.2 of Simplicity Professional also introduces a new environment for building Servlet-based network applications. A development server runs behind the new Servlet Composer, which allows developers to build dynamic web sites and network services.
Exploiting the cross-platform capabilities of Java, Simplicity Professional has a brand new feature that allows users to create an application on one operating system, and then test it on any number of different operating systems. This process is extraordinarily easy, so that Data Representations has labeled it 'One Click' testing.
Both Simplicity for Java and Simplicity Professional allow the creation of applications using an interactive graphical approach to user-interfaces as well as program logic. Once the application's user interface is constructed, the Code Sourcerer interviews the developer in plain English, and writes the necessary Java source code to complete the program. Simplicity includes full support for AWT and JFC/Swing, as well as full JavaBeans support to allow users to add third party components to the tool suite.
