Data Representations Launches Version 2.0 of Simplicity for Java and Simplicity Professional.

New release adds JDK 1.4 support, customizable database Integration, productivity enhancements and an even better suite of user-friendly development features.

SPRINGFIELD, NEW JERSEY, March 24, 2003-
The general availability of Version 2.0 of Simplicity for Java and Simplicity Professional was announced today by Data Representations, Inc. The new release adds full support for JDK 1.4, a new API for precise control of database driven applications and hundreds of new user-friendly features that further expand the company's cross-platform development tool suite for J2SE.

"Version 2.0 marks another milestone in the evolution of the Simplicity for Java family of development tools," said Carl Sayres, co-founder of Data Representations, Inc. "The new features and capabilities in this release respond directly to customer feedback and make our tools even more attractive to Java programmers building data-intensive applications. Our development tools offer user-friendly interfaces like those found in graphic artist and engineering CAD tools without sacrificing programming capabilities. Simplicity for Java and Simplicity Professional both offer many unique features that eliminate tedious tasks for experienced programmers, providing them with much more time to devote to their creative tasks. Simplicity is also a perfect tool for novices or students because it is so intuitive to use."

About the new release
Version 2.0 of Simplicity Professional offers new capabilities that allow developers to build SQL queries graphically, and tie the resulting data into their applications without programming. Simplicity Professional may be used with any JDBC- or ODBC- compliant database server. Many new features have been added to the database tool, further extending the toolkit for building data-intensive applications. Advanced users will appreciate the customization API that allows fine-tuned control of their database applications.

Both Simplicity for Java and Simplicity Professional provide an interactive graphical approach for creating user-interfaces as well as program logic. Once the application's user interface is constructed, the Code Sourcerer™ interviews the developer in plain English, and writes the necessary Java source code to complete the program. Data Representations' exclusive Execution-On-The-Fly™ technology allows Java Source code to be executed immediately without compiling, speeding development and testing. Simplicity includes full support for AWT and JFC/Swing, as well as full JavaBeans™ support allowing users the benefit of adding third party components to the tool suite.

The new release includes hundreds of user-friendly additions to the programming interface driven by testing and user feedback. The Source Code Editor, which includes Color Sysntax Highlighting, Method and Field Lookup and Autocompletion, and Smart Auto-indenting, has been updated to have an instantaneous keyboard response time. The IDE has been enhanced with new project management features and a tab bar that lets developers see exactly what they want, on demand.
