Simplicity for Mobile Devices is a visual RAD tool designed for developers that need to build robust J2ME/MIDP applications for Java enabled phones, Pocket PC OS, Blackberry, Nokia OS, Palm OS, Symbian, and all other MIDP enabled devices. Simplicity is unlike any other J2ME tool since it utilizes a generic design level emulator that simulates the operations of all MIDP compliant devices while you are building them. Simplicity's flexible MID Emulator helps developers build and test MIDlets while adapting to the needs of the particular devices. Taking visual development to the next level, Simplicity not only includes wizards for inserting displayable components but also an auto-coder for creating command operations. Packed with the same features the Simplicity for Java family of products is know for, including the Visual Composer, Execution-On-The-Fly code execution, and Code Sourcerer, SFMD makes building complete applications for any J2ME/MIDP mobile device a breeze!
Features:
- Mid Emulator
- Visual Composer
- Code Sourcerer
- Execution-On-The-Fly
- Support for https protocol
- Support for comm protocol (serial port access)
- Drag-n-Drop support for Runnables and TimerTasks
MID Emulator--Simplicity's flexible emulator lets you to build and test applications for all MIDP-based devices. At any stage of the design the MID emulator can be configured to emulate a wide range of devices by dynamically changing the screen size and color depth, as well as specifying device properties, including pointer support and double buffering. This lets a developer know how the design will look from device to device. And, of course, developers can still use any Java feature in the MID Profile, including RMS data storage, graphics, and TCP/IP simulation.
With the Visual Composer, creating the user interface for your application is simply a matter of dragging and dropping. As each item is entered on the Visual Composer it appears instantly on Simplicity's MID Emulator. Developers can choose from among all of the possible MIDP components that are included on the Composer's Palette. Each component can be customized so it behaves as the developer wants. Each change that is made to a GUI component will also appear instantly on the screen of the MID Emulator. The Composer provides developers with an organized way to program, prototype and make changes.
Let the Code Sourcerer write over 30,000 Java Statements for you including:
- Declare variables
- Perform network, Java System, painting, and other powerful operations
- Persistent RMS data storage
Code SourcererThe Code Sourcerer makes it easy to add powerful functionality to the components in your program. Simplicity's Code Sourcerer interviews developers in plain English and then automatically writes the needed Java source code. Programmers with little Java experience can quickly create code. Experienced Java programmers will save time, producing large blocks of code with less effort.
Execution-On-The-Fly When you program, every line of code including commands are instantly integrated into the MID Emulator which runs the program. Simplicity's Execution-On-The-Fly code execution technology, found only in Simplicity, speeds development, offering true What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get programming. The reliability of your code also improves because you can test your code, line-by-line, as it is created. Unlike other tools, Simplicity lets you see code operate on the MID Emulator without saving, compiling, deploying and testing it. If an error is created it is detected instantly and can be immediately corrected. This feature alone will speed development and increase accuracy for all levels of experience.
