Refine the client
Another exciting feature of the Transaction Engine is Transaction caching. This enables the client to return cached data if it cannot currently make a connection to the servlet, or to retry a query at a later time if it is unable to connect to the servlet.
- Select the Transaction0 node in the Client.
- Check the enable checkbox located in the Response Caching area.
- The default values of the cache name and size are fine and can be left as is.
- Do a few more searches so that there are some values in the cache.
- Then go to the IDE of Simplicity Enterprise and choose 'Stop Web Server' from the Servers menu. This will shut down the web server, allowing you to test the client when it can't connect. If you try a search which has results cached, after a pause the application will show the results from a previous search.
