MIDlet Configuration
The Configure Emulator... item of the Emulator menu displays the MID Configuration dialog. This dialog contains options for setting many aspects of the Emulator.
- LCD Size The LCD of the Emulator may be set to the desired width and height. The minimum allowable size for a MIDP-compliant device is 96x54.
- LCD Type MIDP-compliant devices may be black and white, or show varying numbers of colors. This area of the dialog presents the four most common options.
- Enable Pointer Events This allows the Emulator to mimic devices which do not have pointers as well as those which do. If the target MIDP device does not have a pointer, this option should be turned off. For example, pagers do not typically have pointers.
- Enable Pointer Motion Events This allows the Emulator to mimic devices which do have pointers but may or may not follow pointers as they are moved. For example, some PDA devices respond to basic pointer events but not when the pointer is dragged.
- Enable Repeat Events This allows the Emulator to mimic devices which do not detect when keys are held down.
- Enable Double Buffering This option may be turned on or off to enable the Emulator to mimic devices which do not provide double buffering. Double Buffering improves the display of graphics; for graphics-intensive applications users may wish to implement double buffering manually if the target device does not provide double-buffering.
