Linux, Solaris, SCO UnixWare, and other Unix

In Unix, the default location for the settings directory is in the user's home directory. For example, a user named bob with a home directory /home/bob, would have the default settings directory located in /home/bob/.simplicitymidp. Multiple users can run Simplicity for Mobile Devices from the same location, but have their own unique settings. In Unix, the '.' which precedes the directory name marks the directory as a settings directory, and as such is not normally displayed by the ls command. However, ls -a will list all files, including ones which start with '.'.

Windows, MacOS, and OS/2

Windows, Macintosh, and OS/2 are primarily single-user operating systems. As such, the personal settings directory on these platforms is located in the directory where Simplicity for Mobile Devices is installed.
