Installing
NOTE: Before beginning the install, you must have installed JDK 1.3 or greater on your computer. This must be a full JDK; a JRE is not enough.
Windows (95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP)
The installer is called simpmidp.exe. Double click this file to begin the install. The install utility will guide you through the installation. You must accept the terms of the licence agreement to complete the install. After specifying the install location, all of the files will be copied.
Mac OS X
Mac OS X 10.1.1 comes installed with JDK 1.3.1. Mac OS users should upgrade to 10.1.1 or later.
The distribution for Mac OS X is a .dmg.gz file, named simpmidp.dmg.gz. To install, double-click the simpmidp.dmg.gz file in the Finder. This should open up Stuffit Expander, which will decompress the file. Double-click on the resulting simpmidp.dmg disk image to open it. Inside this disk image is a folder named "SimplicityMidp". Drag this folder onto your hard drive. Inside this folder is an application named "Simplicity for Mobile Devices". Use this to start Simplicity for Mobile Devices.
OS/2 Warp
The distribution is called simpmidp.zip. Unzip this file using an unzip utility, being careful to maintain the directory structure. Execute the simpwps.cmd Rexx script to create a Program Object on your desktop for starting Simplicity for Mobile Devices.
Linux, Solaris, AIX, IRIX, SCO UnixWare, and Other Unix
Simplicity for Mobile Devices is distributed as a .tar.gz file, named simpmidp.tar.gz. To install, copy the distribution to your user directory and execute the following commands to unpack the archive:
