Starting Simplicity for Mobile Devices
On most platforms, the installer will create a launcher which will start Simplicity for Mobile Devices.
- Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP A group called 'Simplicity for Mobile Devices' will be created on your Programs menu on the Start Menu. A .bat file is also created in the directory where Simplicity for Mobile Devices is installed called simplicitymidp.bat.
- OS/2 Warp There is also a file called simpwps.cmd which will create a Program Object on your desktop from which you can start Simplicity for Mobile Devices.
- Solaris, Linux, and most other Unix systems a shell script will be created in the directory where Simplicity for Mobile Devices is installed, called simplicitymidp. You must edit the two variables in this file which correspond to the location of the java executable on your machine and the location of the Simplicity for Mobile Devices install directory. Set this script to be executable (using the chmod command), and then you can copy this file to a directory on your path.
- Macintosh A program icon called 'Simplicity for Mobile Devices' wll be created in the directory where Simplicity for Mobile Devices is installed. Double-click this icon to start Simplicity for Mobile Devices. You may wish to make an alias of this file and put it on the desktop.
In many cases the default installation is sufficient. There are cases when you may need to customize the installation. The following information is provided to help you customize the Simplicity for Mobile Devices installation.
