ImageItem

An ImageItem is an item which displays an image. Alternative text may also be shown if the device is unable to display the entire image. The ImageItem may request to be justified or have new lines before or after it, but these requests might be ignored by a MID-enabled device.

Among the properties of an Image Item are its label text, the layout requests, and alternative text. The property sheet for the ImageItem allows these properties to be set. In addition, there is a button on the property sheet which enables the user to choose the image to be displayed.

The MID Profile requires that devices be able to handle the PNG image format. Individual devices may also be able to work with other image formats. The MID Emulator in Simplicity for Mobile Devices will display PNG, Gif, and Jpeg images.
