Load classes onto the Mobile Device

Once a PRC has been created, it is ready to be loaded onto a Palm OS Platform device. You can load the PRC onto your device in the normal way. You also need to load IBM's WME Java Virtual Machine onto your device before you can run your java applications. You can also load the Jar and Jad file which were created onto any MID-enabled device. Different devices will have different requirements for loading. However, most devices have a program which will take a Jar/Jad combination and transfer them onto a MID-enabled device. Motorola and NexTel have an application called "Java Application Loader Lite" which will load a Jar/Jad combination onto a Motorola iDen phone via a serial connection, as well as the "Java Application Loader" application which will load a Jar/Jad combination onto a web site for connected phones to download and run. Other companies and devices will have different methods, but the net result is the same: your Jar/Jad combination will be loaded onto the mobile device and then run on that device.
