TextBox

A TextBox is a basic screen which allows text entry. TextBoxes may have commands added to them.

In addition to the Title and Ticker text, the starting text of a Title may be specified. In addition, the maximum number of characters allowable in the textbox may be noted. It is important to realize that the actual device might have a lower maximum number of characters allowable in a textbox.

TextBoxes may also have constraints set to ensure that the text conforms to certain styles, like E-mail address or phone number. If desired, the text may be entered as a password, which will hide the text as it is entered into on the MID-enabled device. It should be noted that the password option should probably be used with the numeric constraint, because text entry on MID-enabled devices may be difficult. Even users of Palm OS devices may encounter problems if they cannot see which characters they have written.
