Java Virtual Machine

Before you install Simplicity for Java, you must install a Java Development Kit (JDK). If you do not have a JDK already installed you can get one from

• http://java.sun.com/j2se/downloads.html (for Windows, Solaris, and Linux)
• http://java.sun.com/cgi-bin/java-ports.cgi (for other operating systems)

These web pages list all of the known JDKs by operating system. Make sure that you choose one which is compliant with JDK version 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, or 1.4. Try to use the latest revision of the JDK for your operating system. It is preferable that your JDK be version 1.1.8 or later.
